Scott Hoesman
President

Scott Hoesman is the President of The Kaleidoscope Group.  Scott is an accomplished and sought after organizational strategy consultant, speaker, executive trainer and facilitator with over 20 years of experience in the areas of Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) and Leadership.  His strong operational and corporate business background helps to ensure that great plans are executed flawlessly.  Scott and his team at The Kaleidoscope Group, partner with business leaders who are striving to create and sustain a more diverse and inclusive workplace to drive improved business results in an increasingly competitive and complex global marketplace.

A result of having spent the first 10+ years of his career in a variety of financial services leadership roles; Scott brings a practical and pragmatic approach to his work that balances theory with real-world application and results.  His approach is to ‘appropriately challenge’ individuals, teams and organizations to understand, examine, develop, and hone the behaviors and skills that are necessary to accomplish each organization’s unique strategic objectives.  In the leadership development arena, Scott grounds his work in change management practices and believes that creating and sustaining an inclusive culture begins with leadership.   There is not a secret box of ‘inclusion’ skills from his view, but rather results are enhanced when traditional leadership competencies and behaviors are examined and honed through the lens of diversity and inclusion.  For this reason, Scott is often selected to partner with organizations in senior leadership team development.  His work in this area spans formal training curriculums, leadership forums, speaking engagements and executive coaching.

In addition to his ‘in front of the room’ work with clients, Scott is known for his ability to assist in the implementation of full-scale, long term D&I strategies for clients ranging  from Fortune 100 companies to smaller not-for-profits and governmental agencies.  Scott has partnered with organizations like: Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation, Ryder Trucks, The McGraw-Hill Companies, AVON, Children’s Memorial Hospital, DHL, HBO, AIG, Advocate Healthcare, Robert Bosch, Gerber and Zurich Insurance.  He is skilled at meeting organizations where they are;  equally comfortable working with those new to the D&I journey, as well as those already recognized as best-in-class.   Scott is adept at providing guidance on all aspects of the D&I spectrum including:

·         Organizational Assessements

·         Diversity Councils & Resource Groups – launch and support

·         Recruitment & rentention strategies

·         Employee engagement strategies

·         Team effectiveness interventions

·         Vendor/Supplier diversity

·         D&I Office personnel and structures

·         D&I education and training

·         Benchmarking, measurement and scorecards

Scott’s expertise in the diversity and inclusion field has led to several key career accomplishments such as the curriculum redesign, development and implementation of a 15 course blended D&I and Leadership Development learning solution for a Top 50 (DiversityInc) Pharmaceutical Company.  Scott has successfully led numerous multi-year client engagements involving the creation and implementation of their diversity and inclusion strategies.  In addition, Scott  led a four year cultural change initiative for a major healthcare provider employing turn-around and change management strategies that enabled the organization to move from an annual loss of $10 million to a profit of $3 million.

Scott is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM), American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) and Steering Committee Member for Ability Links, a not-for-profit seeking to secure employment opportunities for people with disabilities.  He has received certifications from the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL), Lominger, HBDI and Hogan.  Scott is the author of Talent Management Cover Story, Disability and the Untapped Workforce published in September 2008.  He is also a contributor to the development of Global Competency, a book by Lambert and Myers published in 2004 and the Trainers’ Toolkit published by Lambert and Myers in 2005.
